Job Scope & Purpose:
Our Cambridge area client is seeking a highly-motivated individual to join a dynamic drug discovery team. This position will focus on applying molecular and cellular biology techniques to support discovery and development on key pipeline neuroscience projects. In this lab-based position, the successful candidate will maintain cell lines, run cellular assays, and execute supporting molecular biology work. The successful candidate will have significant expertise in mammalian tissue culture, cellular assay development, western blotting, and qPCR. High content screen and microscopy experience is a plus.
Primary Job Responsibilities:
Tissue culture of human cancer cell lines
Employ cellular and molecular biology techniques to conduct mechanism of action studies
Analyze and interpret data to present and communicate study results in project team meetings
Effectively contribute within a multidisciplinary team
Primary Job Requirements:
Minimum BS in biology or a related field with 2+ years post-degree experience in academic or industry environment preferred
Proficiency in standard molecular biology and cell biology practices
Tissue culture of cancer cell lines, cell-based assays (e.g, cell proliferation assays)
Experience with Western blotting, ELISA, RNA and DNA extraction, qRT-PCR, siRNA/shRNA/CRISPR-mediated gene knockdown/knockout
A passion for oncology drug discovery
A collaborative team player with a curiosity for the unknown, strong attention to detail, and excellent verbal/written/interpersonal skills
