Job Scope & Purpose:
Our exclusive client just went through a significant acquisition and is establishing a state-of-the-art research site here in Boston. With a multi-million-dollar research budget this year alone, this team is looking to build out significant capabilities in small molecule immuno-oncology! This leadership position in the IO team will help devise and execute strategy to build our clients portfolio of projects. As an experienced industry leader and people manager, this individual will bring to bear their expertise to drive the IO target ID and validation across multiple programs within their team.
Primary Job Responsibilities:
- Provide immune-oncology biology expertise to lead target ID and validation and drug discovery efforts
- Lead and empower a team of 3-4 PhD and non-PhD level scientists; mentor team leaders and develop scientists’ careers.
- Contribute to a culture of open and effective collaboration between Cancer Biology, Immuno-Oncology, Biochemistry, Computational Biology, Clinical and Translational teams in Boston
- Support the organization by maintaining a work environment focused on scientific integrity, open communication, and collaboration.
Primary Job Requirements:
- PhD in biology, Immunology, cancer biology, or related field
- 7-10 years of experience in drug discovery in biotech or pharma
- A proven track record of scientific excellence as demonstrated by publications or patents
- Outstanding communication, writing, and presentation skills
- Demonstrated success in initiating and leading projects and interacting with cross functional teams.
- Experience in leading PhD level scientists and mentoring team leaders preferred
- Experience with small molecule drug and/or biologic development and IND submissions preferred.
