Job Overview: The NGS Scientist will independently run and optimizing existing NGS workflows such as targeted sequencing, RNA sequencing, and epigenome on- and off-target analysis.
Responsibilities:
- Design, execute and troubleshoot experiments to optimize assay performances and ensure assay robustness
- Execute the process development to write, review, and publish SOPs of developed assays.
- Work with the R&D team on the development and validation of new NGS and other molecular-based assays.
- Work both independently and as part of a collaborative team to design, plan and execute experiments that support development activities, project goals, and platform development
Qualifications:
- B.S. or M.S. in cell/molecular biology, genetics, or related discipline with 6+ years of relevant laboratory experience
- Strong technical expertise with extensive experience in molecular biology techniques, including RNA/DNA extraction, qPCR, NGS library preparation, purification, qualification, and quantification
- Hands-on experience in development and implementation of sequencing assays like targeted sequencing, whole-genome sequencing, RNA-seq, ChIP-seq, bisulfite sequencing, long read sequencing, single-cell sequencing, etc.
- Experience with Illumina short-read technologies
- Team-oriented mindset with ability to work both independently and collaboratively
