Job Scope & Purpose:
Our West Cambridge start-up pharmaceutical client is growing in several areas and now is the time to join their team! This is not the first company buildout for this leadership team and if you are interested in drugging targets that have been thought impossible before (great scientific challenge) then this is for you! Primary Job Responsibilities:
Lab ordering, organization and supplies – monitor inventory, re-order supplies, follow up with late orders, reconcile monthly order invoice, archive received invoices
Maintain lab stocks and databases – organize freezer stocks and logs of research and GLP reagents (Polysaccharides, protein stocks and others)
Coordinate shipments and receipt of research materials – ship materials to contract organizations for immunizations and receive and manage sera; proteins and sera to ship to collaborators; clear communications regarding shipments; ensure that shipping log notebook is maintained
Ensure Lab Compliance, including assisting in Biosafety, Chemical Hygiene, and Emergency Action strategies and managing disposal of bio hazardous and chemical waste
Primary Job Requirements:
2 – 5 years’ prior experience managing laboratory operations in a biomedical research setting with a demonstrated, high degree of autonomy
Familiarity with molecular, biochemical, and cell biology methods, reagents, and equipment
Experience with laboratory supply/resupply, procurement, and management
Knowledge of industrial safety and ability to effectively communicate and enforce lab policies
Strong organizational skills, and experience with MS Outlook, Word, Excel, and ability to rapidly pick up new computer and web applications; IT know-how is a plus
Being pro-active and effective at time management is essential
