Organic Analytical Chemist

Responsibilities:

• Develop QC specifications for novel organic compounds
• Prepare and run analytical samples on a variety on instruments, including UV/Vis, FTIR, NMR, LCMS, HPLC, DSC, and TGA
• Interpret and report data from above mentioned analytical methods
• Form evidence-based conclusions about quality of batches of chemicals and make recommendations about whether batches should be accepted or rejected
• Perform basic troubleshooting and maintenance of above mentioned instruments

 

Required qualifications

• PhD with 1+, MS degree with 3+ years’ experience, or BS degree with 5+ years relevant experience

• Experience with UV/Vis, FTIR, NMR, LCMS, HPLC, DSC, and TGA in sample prep, instrument operation and data interpretation
• Ability to interpret, report, and draw conclusions from a variety of analytical data.
• Ability to work as part of a team and interface with people from a variety of technical or nontechnical backgrounds
• strong understanding of organic chemistry, both polymer and small molecule
