Responsibilities:
- Develop QC specifications for novel organic compounds
- Prepare and run analytical samples on a variety on instruments, including UV/Vis, FTIR, NMR, LCMS, HPLC, DSC, and TGA
- Interpret and report data from above mentioned analytical methods
- Form evidence-based conclusions about quality of batches of chemicals and make recommendations about whether batches should be accepted or rejected
- Perform basic troubleshooting and maintenance of above mentioned instruments
Required qualifications
- PhD with 1+, MS degree with 3+ years’ experience, or BS degree with 5+ years relevant experience
- Experience with UV/Vis, FTIR, NMR, LCMS, HPLC, DSC, and TGA in sample prep, instrument operation and data interpretation
- Ability to interpret, report, and draw conclusions from a variety of analytical data.
- Ability to work as part of a team and interface with people from a variety of technical or nontechnical backgrounds
- strong understanding of organic chemistry, both polymer and small molecule
