Job Scope & Purpose:
Our newest client is a genomic medicine company pioneering a next-generation in vivo approach. Their proprietary vectors are designed to deliver a diverse range of gene modification technologies directly to hematopoietic stem cells circulating in the blood without the need for stem cell collection or prior myeloablative conditioning, such as chemotherapy. As a result, their therapies can be delivered in a diverse range of settings, including outpatient and settings where access to sophisticated healthcare systems may be limited.
We are seeking an independent and highly motivated Principal Scientist/Associate Director to join their research team. This position reports to the Head of Nonclinical Development and Regulatory. In this role, you will help develop novel viral-based gene therapies for hematological disorders and work collaboratively with biology and platform development groups and across the company. You will be responsible for driving the preclinical development of a novel viral-based gene therapy targeting blood stem cells (e.g. hematopoietic stem cells) for diseases of the blood and immune system.
