Job Scope & Purpose:
Our Bedford based client is seeking a motivated scientist with a strong interest and background in protein analysis, molecular pathways, and cellular assays. The Senior Scientist, In Vitro Pharmacology candidate will be a key member of the In Vitro Pharmacology group to enhance ongoing research efforts developing oligonucleotide-based therapies for ocular and CNS targets. A key focus will be to measure specific oligonucleotide-induced protein responses. This position will report into Sr. Director, In Vitro Pharmacology.
Primary Job Responsibilities:
- Provide protein analytical expertise to support early preclinical projects
- Design and execute strategies to interrogate protein responses in the cellular and molecular pathways targeted by oligonucleotides
- Collaborate with biology and chemistry team members to advance pipeline projects
- Present research findings at group meetings, company-wide presentations, and external meetings.
- Support and manage external collaborations, including CROs or collaborators
- Works with project teams setting objections and managing multiple projects.
Primary Job Requirements:
- Ph.D. or MS with 8+ years post-graduate experience or B.S. with 10+ years of post-graduate in molecular and cell biology research, preferably in industry.
- Experience designing and performing pathway protein function assays.
- Firsthand experience measuring proteins by immune based or non-immune based methods.
- Protein analysis utilizing biophysical methods are desirable.
- Experience in molecular biology, RNA techniques, and cell-based assays.
- Work experience in therapeutic areas involving CNS or ocular disease highly desirable.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
