Therapeutic Areas: Metabolic, muscle, neuro and immunological indications

Job Overview:  Looking for a Scientist/Sr. Scientist with experience with oligosynthesizer/HPLC/LC-MS, conjugation, and strong understanding of the oligo therapeutic field.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop oligonucleotide synthesis and conjugation platforms to positively impact drug discovery projects.
  • Participate in establishing and managing collaborations with company partners and CRO’s.
  • Serve as a scientific expert in oligonucleotide synthesis and conjugation chemistry with both internal and external partners.
  • Independently and collaboratively identify and deliver high quality drug candidates based on oligonucleotide conjugates.
  • Contribute to the business development evaluation of in-license.
  • Maintain a high level of knowledge of emerging oligonucleotide conjugate development.
  • Generate novel, testable hypotheses to enable rapid, clear decision making.
  • Ensure optimal interaction/communication and provide updates on project status to team members and stakeholders.

Qualifications:

  • PhD in organic, or bioorganic chemistry, biochemistry required.
  • Postdoctoral experience in industry is preferred.
  • Extensive experience with solid-phase oligonucleotide synthesis.
  • Extensive experience with bioconjugation reactions utilizing click chemistry and other methods
  • Experience with LC-MS and preparative IE/RP-HPLC
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Strong problem-solving skills for developing creative, innovative solutions, and meeting project objectives.
  • Extensive experience in driving and supporting external teams at CRO's.
  • Proven track record of scientific contributions to projects, including co-inventorship on patents.
  • (Co)-authorship on publications and presentations is required.
  • Scientific creativity, independent thought, and decision-making ability.
