SR. RESEARCH ASSOCIATE, CELL BIOLOGY
The qualified candidate will join a team focused on developing and executing biochemical and cell-based assays for small molecule lead identification/optimization and deciphering their mechanism of action. In this position you will support drug discovery efforts by providing cell biology expertise.
Responsibilities:
- Culture a variety of cancer cell lines and primary cells
- Develop and execute cell-based assays in 96-well or 384-well format
- Analyze molecules’ mechanism of action utilizing flow cytometry, immunofluorescence, western, qPCR, apoptosis or other assays
- Prepare assay reagents, compound serial dilutions
- Perform data analysis, reporting and integration with GraphPad Prism, Microsoft Office and other software packages
- Contribute to or lead lab management activities
Qualifications and Experience:
- BS or MS in related scientific discipline
- 3-6 years of industry experience in cell biology and compound profiling
- Extensive experience in cell culture, compound handling are must have
- Proficiency in quantitative cell-based assays
- Familiarity with liquid handling platforms would be a plus
- Experience with protein analysis by ELISA, MSD ELISA, western, flow cytometry, immunofluorescence
- Experience with DNA and RNA isolation, qPCR and other RNA analysis techniques
- Experience with retroviral/lentiviral vectors for generation of stable cell lines and gene knockdown/knockout using shRNA/CRISPR technologies
- Excellent computer skills combined with data analysis
- Must be detail oriented, well organized, and have strong communication skills
- Capable of fully understanding scope of projects
- Able to independently troubleshoot and identify solutions to arising issues
- Excellent teamwork skills and the ability to work under the supervision of a senior member of the biology group, in a fast-paced, multi-disciplinary environment
