Job Scope & Purpose:
Our Boston based client is looking to add a strain engineer to their ever growing team. They are looking for a strain engineer to execute the design, construction, testing and analysis of microbes for the production of 2-5 related cultured ingredients with a small team & our foundry. Primary Job Responsibilities:
Genetic design of strains to optimize production of cultured ingredients of interest
Strain engineering to optimize production of cultured ingredients of interest
Developing suitable cultivation conditions and assays for screening the performance of your microbes
Testing the metabolic and physiological performance of your microbes
Primary Job Requirements:
BS/MS with 2-5 years (preferably industry) experience in strain or metabolic engineering
Experience with HTS, DNA manipulation
Great molecular biology and microbiology skills at the bench
Prior experience with metabolic engineering of industrial yeasts or prokaryotes a plus
Prior experience in engineering secondary metabolism or natural products biosynthesis a plus
