Job Overview: This job is seeking a drug discovery leader with expertise in the anti-fungal therapeutic area, who has made substantial contributions to target identification and drug discovery efforts, and has experience in assay and in vivo model development.
Primary Job Responsibilities:

  • Lead a research team to develop, optimize, and execute fungal assays to identify and characterize bioactive molecules; design and execute in vitro and in vivo experiments, presenting data to leadership team.
  • Strategic leadership and direction for anti-fungal drug target selection, evaluation and prioritization
  • Direct the discovery process across preclinical development, clinical candidate selection through to IND filing.
  • Collaborate with functional teams, establish PK/PD/efficacy relationship and translational biomarker strategy.
Primary Job Requirements:
  • PhD and 6+ years of drug discovery experience in an industry setting
  • Leadership experience in Fungal Biology/Genetics or related subject area
  • Proficient in designing and implementing medium to high-throughput assays to assess single agent activity and discover synergistic drug combinations.
  • Experience with antifungal drug discovery is highly desirable
